5 Supportive Tips to help you Win

There is no success without failure first. Too often we lose ourselves in the achievement of the end goal without really valuing the process to actually get there. It’s about the journey, there is no final destination; everything rhymes to the beat of change, a continuous flow of failure and successes. Failure is enriching and enlightening. As much as it hurts, it builds character and allows us to grow as an individual. We build on our inner strength through the remnants of all that came before- mistakes, wrong turns and bad judgement calls. If you have tried and failed many times, do not be disheartened. Think about what you have learnt from what went wrong and try again to put it right with the knowledge that you have gained.

Don’t allow your fears to freeze you into inaction. There is always a way forward and a way to win.

Each rejection can catapult you to a redirection, one that is more aligned with your authentic path. No matter how rocky the road gets, hold tight for what lays over the horizon. Here are 5 supportive tips to help you.

Don’t stay stuck in what went wrong, learn from it

Sometimes we can give up too quickly when something hasn’t gone our way, but the truth and substance of winning lies in going the distance. Any setbacks should be loved and appreciated for what they have taught you and how you can find a better way forward. Absorb the failure, find a new perspective on it, and then devise a fresh way forward, a new approach! Perspectives can change the picture in a heartbeat; we just need to adjust our ‘mistake mindset’. Wear your mistakes and wrong turns like a badge of honour, there is no shame in what has gone wrong- and you have the intrinsic ability to make it right. Mistakes mean that you are taking chances and following your heart.

“Stay hungry, stay foolish” – Steve Jobs

Build inner strength not speed!

The best results come from a patient pursuit of what we desire; if we keep pressing ‘fast forward’ we make mistakes and actually lose our desired momentum. Nothing is ever supposed to be easy; it takes hard work and dedication to reach toward any goal or dream. Indulge and immerse yourself in the beauty of your journey with a deep knowing that any knock-backs will provide you with a greater will for an amazing comeback. Propel yourself forward by guiding yourself through your inner reservoir of fortitude and intuitive processes. Patience requires an innate level of trust, you turn the ‘clock focus’ toward you inwardly rather than how time flows externally. Your soul has an in-built watch- trust your own inner timing.

Stay committed!

Your commitment to get things done and reach your goal is what makes things happen. That commitment is a promise to you. Stay focused and keep taking action steps with a tenacious and unwavering belief in your dreams and ambitions. We are motivated by what we love and what sparks our inner flame alight, it’s when things seem the hardest that we need to draw upon all we have within to stay committed and believe in our inner power. Do one thing each day that takes you closer to what you aim for… find a way to keep moving forward.

“But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody!” – Rocky Balboa

Keep the fun and curiosity alive

Goals and ambitions can be cloaked in seriousness and a twisted will sometimes, where did the fun go? ‘I love what I am doing, it makes me happy’ should override a constant and mentally stressful ‘I must or I have to get this done’. The most successful people are the ones that actually really love and enjoy what they do and this drives them to achieve more. We all have our inner child that lives for the magic, mystery, and un-distilled curiosity of life. Through the eyes of that inner child we tap into our highest sources of creativity and alchemy. Follow your dreams because they light you up even when you are knocked down to your feet, remember why you started, and go all the way to your win- your happy place.

Learn to love your challenges

When you learn to love what challenges you, there is no way you can lose. You always win because you see the beauty and wisdom each trial can offer you. Be prepared for things to not go as planned and develop a mental strategy and an enhanced emotional strength to see you through. We can only act from a place of acceptance and emerge stronger and even more committed to our highest aspirations and greater good. Challenges and obstacles always call for us to be brave and resiliently tap in to what we are made of; don’t be afraid of what pushes you to utilise all your inherent strength. We all evolve and grow against some kind of adversity. Trust your inner compass and persevere.

“Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can’t go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.” – Margaret Atwood, The Penelopiad

Use every experience as fuel. Fuel to drive you forward and take you closer toward your dreams. The winning mindset arises from the strongest seeds of self belief you can tap into.
