3 Lessons on Trusting your Heart and Intuition
“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honours the servant and has forgotten the gift.” A. Einstein
Our intuition is the deepest form of intelligence we have. It sits inside our soul and is a direct connection to our spiritual essence. Intuition is simply ‘inner knowing’ and it is not something that you can box into the realms of logic, it surpasses and expands beyond judgement and rationality. Our intuition is a gift that we can unwrap layer by layer.
“I feel there are two people inside me – me and my intuition. If I go against her, she’ll screw me every time, and if I follow her, we get along quite nicely” – Kim Basinger
We live in the matrix of the material world from an ego-led space and our mind can often take over. Our ego simply serves to protect us and keep us in a place of safety and comfort. As human beings we need comfort but we also need to call our ego out when it hinders us from growth, new life and love, and reaching for our dreams. The magic of our existence lies in the uncertainty, the mystery, and a child-like curiosity that captures our imagination and ability to create. When we truly trust the voice within- our gut, our inner compass of wisdom then we sync ourselves to our higher energetic vibration, our connection to ourselves and the benevolent universe that surrounds us. We thrive when we can hush our ego so we can tap into that deeper knowledge from our heart-space and soul. Here 3 lessons on trusting your heart and your gut a little more!
Your mind will often play tricks on you, in its efforts to keep you looped into the well known and the tried and tested it will box you in and tell you ‘I can’t’ or ‘it’s not possible’. Your ego space will tell you that your dreams aren’t worthy of your attention, that the happiness you seek and wish to create is unattainable. Everything is possible but your mind will use failures and fears to knock you back and keep you from seeing the wonder of what could be- because it is uncertain, unfamiliar, something that our ego is not open to. Your soul guided by your heart and intuition knows the value, worth and measure of who you are. Your heart and soul are fearless and powerful in their desire to reach for the full potential and possibilities- trusting this wisdom becomes like a light that shines through a darkened corridor. Innately you know your worth and your value. Listen to your heart and your gut for what you feel within. When you know your worth there is nothing to stop you from moving forward. When you know your value, you become ‘unstuck’, you can break down the walls of doubt and breakthrough to your highest good and limitless potential.
We find freedom in the full expression of who we are. Freedom lies in our truth and authenticity and our ability to follow our hearts. In freedom we release judgement and comparison, we let go of the expectations of others and in our harsh criticism of ourselves. Trusting our gut and what lies within means we can embrace the full power and propensity of who we are. We sometimes limit ourselves by default- by engaging too often in the cluttered processes of our minds that construct limits, falsehoods, or hiding behind a mask in order to be accepted and loved by others. When you know your heart and are guided by it then you set yourself on a path to freedom, an openness to be you and accept yourself. Our emotions are unlocked and given new life in freedom of expression. We emerge from the shallow waters to swim deeper toward our strength. Through freedom you can embrace the alchemy within you.
Our heart is like a compass- it intuitively knows the way to seek out life experiences and a journey that is for your greater good. Our ego likes to keep us off the road that is less travelled but our heart feels the desire to pursue. When something feels ‘off’ it very often is and vice versa. When we can tune into and channel our feelings and emotions we encourage that inner connectivity, value our discernment and give strength to those instincts from our gut to lead us to where we are meant to be. Sometimes we are led to painful experiences and harsh challenges but this is how we grow and uncover the deeper essence of who we are. We become strengthened by all experiences, whether they are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ are just perceptions. If you learned something along the way then that journey was worthwhile for the wisdom it gave you; our hearts lead us to discover our truth and authenticity. Right and wrong, negative and positive, light and dark all co-exist; you cannot have one polarity without the other.
Through trusting our intuition we can quieten our ego and heed more attentively what we actually feel within. We can process our thoughts in a way that serve us better, more lovingly and appreciatively. When we feel more and think less we are open, more connected and wired to our heart-led expressions, the freedom we all seek, and the dreams we all dream.
